Terms of Service

Welcome to Interpoll. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of interpoll.app and its features (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Interpoll is an internet poll site. It shows visitors random public polls and quizzes to vote on and comment on, and lets registered users create their own polls. You may browse, vote, and comment without an account; creating polls requires signing in.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Accounts

  • Registered accounts are created through third-party sign-in with Google or Discord. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the third-party account you use to sign in.
  • Signing in with a different provider creates a separate, independent Interpoll account. See our Privacy Policy for how this works.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Your content

“Content” means the polls, quiz options, comments, votes, and other material you submit to the Service.

  • You retain ownership of the Content you create.
  • By submitting Content, you grant Interpoll a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.
  • You are solely responsible for your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.

Because polls and comments are part of a shared, public record, Content you have contributed may remain visible in an anonymized form after you delete it or your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post Content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, obscene, or that infringes the rights of others.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Use the Service to spam, or to manipulate poll results through automated voting, multiple identities, or other fraudulent means.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our systems and networks.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service, or attempt to circumvent any rate limiting or security measures.
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect information about other users.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

Voting and anonymity

Anonymous visitors may vote and comment. To keep results meaningful, the Service limits participation to one vote per poll per identity and records which polls you have acted on. You agree not to attempt to circumvent these limits.

Moderation

We may, but are not obligated to, review Content. We reserve the right to remove any Content and to suspend or terminate access to the Service, at our discretion, for any conduct we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or its users.

Intellectual property

The Service itself — including its design, software, and branding — is owned by Interpoll and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without our prior written permission.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers for sign-in (Google, Discord) and hosting. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms and policies.

Polls may include a source link submitted by the poll’s creator that points to an external, third-party website. We do not control the destination of these user-submitted links or the content found there, and we are not responsible for third-party sites you choose to visit through them.

Disclaimer of warranties

We make no guarantees about the Service. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability (that it works and is of usable quality), fitness for a particular purpose (that it suits your specific needs), and non-infringement (that it does not infringe others’ rights). We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any Content is accurate or reliable. Polls and quizzes are user-generated and do not represent our views.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interpoll and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service (which, for a free service, is zero) or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Interpoll and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
